Like other schools in our region, Greely practises "Boomerang Lunches". Your child will be bringing what is left from his/her lunch home in the lunch box each day. Recyclable containers, scraps, and items for the green bin are to be placed into their re-usable containers, or a spare plastic bag, and returned home.
 
Why?
  • allows you to know exactly what your child is eating
  • prevents students from throwing out an uneaten sandwich from first nutrition break, and then feeling hungry at second nutrition break
  • school recycling programs differ from those at home (e.g. we do not have green bin/composting capability)
  • encourages the use of re-usable containers
